It comes with a Lightning to USB cable, allowing you to charge your device while in the car. The charger features a USB port with 2.4A power, suitable for charging tablets and smartphones. For simultaneous charging, our Dual Car Charger provides 4.8A rapid charging speed for two USB-enabled devices. Both chargers have a compact design and a soft-touch coating for added convenience and comfort. Stay connected and fully charged wherever you are.

Design Challenge

  1. Design three new USB car chargers for Apple Store to replace existing items.

  2. Present new designs to Apple Store buyers to secure their preference over Belkin car chargers.

  3. Meet aggressive timeline and manage high expectations from the internal group as the first project at Incase.

  4. Maintain high-quality design and attention to detail consistent with Apple products.

  5. Collaborate effectively with a small but tight-knit design team to achieve success.

Contribution

  1. Collaborated with internal engineer and product managers to create prototypes for the sales team.

  2. Worked closely with Foxconn engineer team to develop functional samples.

  3. Designed three distinct USB car chargers (Mini, Dual, and Combo) inspired by the company's heritage product line.

Achievements

  • Received positive feedback from Apple Store buyers regarding the fast charging capability and compact design of the Mini and Dual car chargers.

  • Enhanced the ergonomics of the original Mini car charger based on customer feedback, resulting in easier insertion and removal from car cigarette jacks.

  • Generated approximately $5MM in revenue within the first two years, with the Dual model continuing to be sold through the Incase website and other retail outlets.
