This collection represented a major milestone for Incase as it was the first line of products conceived, designed, and manufactured entirely in Southern California. As a company deeply rooted in California, this release symbolized Incase's strong connection to its home state.

The inaugural product in the Made in California series was the innovative Simple Snap Case, specifically designed for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This case showcased Incase's dedication to creating high-quality accessories that seamlessly integrate with Apple devices. The Simple Snap Case offered a sleek and minimalist design, providing both protection and style for iPhone users.

Design Challenge

  1. Developed two distinct cases for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, adhering to Apple's MFI specification immediately following the release of the devices.

  2. Effectively managed time and collaborated closely with internal engineers to overcome challenging deadlines. Worked in coordination with a dedicated Project Manager to ensure the timely delivery of the product.

  3. By prioritizing efficient communication and seamless collaboration, successfully met the demands of the project while upholding the highest standards of quality and functionality. This achievement highlights the ability to work under pressure and deliver exceptional results within a fast-paced environment.


Contribution

  1. Thoroughly reviewed and analyzed the detailed iPhone specifications, meticulously examining the blueprint measurements provided.

  2. Utilized the information gathered to create a comprehensive 3D CAD drawing, ensuring precision and accuracy in the design. Collaborated closely with the Stateside manufacturing and tooling shop, incorporating their valuable feedback to refine and enhance the product details.

  3. To gain further insights into the local manufacturing process, visited the Stateside manufacturing site, immersing in the operations and understanding the intricacies of the production workflow. This first-hand experience provided valuable knowledge and helped establish effective communication channels between design and manufacturing teams.

  4. Through these efforts, successfully streamlined the design process, optimized manufacturing feasibility, and fostered a collaborative partnership with the Stateside manufacturing site. This achievement exemplifies a commitment to excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the entire product development lifecycle.
