About Me

I’m an industrial designer and product developer based in Los Angeles with 20+ years of experience turning ideas into market-ready products. I design across consumer electronics, oral care, kids’ products, and device accessories, guiding projects from concept through mass production.

I work hands-on with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that are beautifully designed, manufacturable, and aligned with business goals.

What I Do

I bridge creative vision with production realities, working at the intersection of user needs, brand identity, and engineering feasibility.

My process includes:

  • Conducting user research and market analysis

  • Collaborating with engineers, marketers, and vendors

  • Driving end-to-end development from sketch to tooling

  • Leading CMF design with a focus on usability and manufacturability

Selected Highlights

  • $60M business impact: Modernized 24 oral care SKUs at Perrigo, cutting time-to-market by 6 months and reducing costs by $1M.

  • $55M revenue growth: At Munchkin, redesigned 30+ products and co-launched two UV-C sanitizers just before the pandemic, driving $5M in new sales and earning the 2021 Top Sales Award.

  • Global product launches: Managed full development cycles from sketching and prototyping to packaging, vendor coordination, and worldwide rollout.

  • International recognition: Recipient of leading design awards including iF Design, IDEA, German Design, Good Design (Chicago Athenaeum), Good Design Australia, and A’ Design Award.

Background & Education

I was born in South Korea, raised in the New York metro area, and trained as both an artist and designer. I earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (full scholarship) and a Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute.

My fine art background still shapes my approach. Sensitivity to form, material, and emotion guides how I design tactile, user-centered products today.

Early Foundations

Before industrial design, I painted extensively, exploring color, composition, and material texture. Learning under artists Jack Whitten, Marilyn Minter, Mary Heilmann, and art critic Jerry Saltz sharpened my eye for detail and storytelling. That foundation broadened my perspective and still guides how I see and shape the world through design today.

More About Me

Outside of work, I find inspiration through travel, food, and culture. I love experimenting in the kitchen, exploring global design traditions, and creating meaningful experiences with friends and family.

Whether prototyping a product or hosting a dinner, I seek moments where creativity makes everyday life more joyful.
