About Me
I’m an industrial designer based in Los Angeles with deep experience taking products from concept to mass production. Over the past 20 years, I’ve designed and shipped award‑winning products for brands including Samsung, Cisco, Munchkin, and Perrigo, focusing on the intersection of user insight, manufacturability, and business impact.
I work at the intersection of design, engineering, and business, translating complex requirements into user‑friendly, production-ready products and contributing to the processes that make design a consistent driver of results.
What I Do
Industrial Design & Product Development: Leading industrial design from concept through production across consumer electronics, oral care, kids' products, and accessories. Expertise in user research and concept development, advanced CAD and rendering, CMF, prototyping, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing coordination.
Design Operations & Leadership: Building design systems and standards, establishing in-house capabilities, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring teams. Creating the processes and partnerships that transform design from a service function into a strategic advantage.
Program Management: Leading complex development cycles from strategic planning through global launch, managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships across multiple concurrent projects.
Selected Impact
Perrigo: Modernized a 24-SKU oral care portfolio and transitioned from outsourced to in-house design, cutting time-to-market by 6 months, reducing budget by $1M, and contributing to $60M+ in revenue.
Munchkin: Led strategic updates across 30+ products and co-created a UV-C sanitizer line launched pre-pandemic, driving $55M+ in revenue and earning the 2021 Top Sales Award.
Cisco: Established a Product Design Language for the Security Business Unit and led design for the Catalyst 2960-X series, contributing to a $1B+ flagship networking line.
Recognition: iF Design Award, IDEA Bronze, Good Design Award, German Design Award. Inventor on 25+ granted U.S. patents (utility and design).

Background & Education
Born in South Korea and raised in the New York metro area, I earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (full scholarship) and a Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute. This combination of fine arts and industrial design training gave me a strong foundation in visual sensitivity, composition, form, and material quality, and taught me how design creates meaningful user connections. It informs my approach to industrial design, where I aim to create products that are both functionally excellent and emotionally compelling, at both the individual product and design system level.
Beyond the Studio
Outside of work, I find inspiration through travel, food, and culture. My favorite place I have visited is the Maldives, where I visited several islands and swam with manta rays and nurse sharks. I love visiting local galleries and museums, walking my 14-year-old Tibetan Terrier, and I enjoy cooking Thai food from scratch for friends and family.
