PROCESS

DEVELOPMENT

SKETCHING
Generated ideas for the modern form factors, proportions and the game play.

Created simple mock ups using foam board and duck tape and studied the dimensions and floatation of the boat.

3D CAD MODELING
Created series of 3D CAD models for the design options, using Solidworks.

3D RENDERING
Created various design options and visualized the shapes and colors for design reviews.

3D PRINTING
Created 3D printed models to review shapes, assemblies and details.

PAINTED PROTOTYPE
A realistic painted prototype was made and tested it on the water. New design updates were also made after the review.

TESTING
Assembled the 3D printed prototypes and tested the magnet strength, part engagements and other details.

FINAL SAMPLE TEST
FEP and PP samples were made and tested on the water. Also handed out to colleagues with children who played with the samples and gave us generous feedbacks.

SAMPLE REVIEW
Tooling was made and injection molded parts were reviewed prior to the production stage. CMF was applied and more details were updated to ensure the best quality.
