CONCEPT EXPLORATION

Different forms and textures were sketched and modeled to test how flexibility, grip, and sensory play could work together. Through iteration, the design moved toward a bendable loop with multi-texture elements that engage babies while soothing teething gums.

3D CAD

The teether was built in SolidWorks to refine proportions, balance textures, and visualize flexibility in 3D.

COLLABORATE WITH AN ENGINEER

Worked closely with an engineer who added pivoting metal hinge joints, integrated structural ribs, and refined the design for assembly with DFM considerations.

PROTOTYPING

Created functional prototypes to test bending, twisting, and overall durability. Hands-on evaluation helped confirm comfort, safety, and play value before moving forward.

COLOR-MATERIAL-FINISH DESIGN

Developed detailed CMF specifications to define color, material, and finish for each part. These specs guided manufacturers on costing and ensured production matched the intended aesthetics.
